ART GALLERY FOR BUGS
More than 200 species are featured in this 2,500 sf gallery. Conceived as “an art gallery for bugs,” the exhibit seeks to place the visual focus on the invertebrates themselves in a gallery environment that is simple, warm, and inviting.

THE HIVE
The sinuous sculptural form of “The Hive” is a focal point for the space. Collection tanks and aquaria, graphic displays, and interactive media elements are organized around this central hub according to their natural geographic contexts. Collections groupings represent “Tropical Forests,” “Arid Environments,” “Native Alberta,” and “Reefs”. A live invertebrates lab, adjacent to the Bug Gallery, allows visitors to view staff scientists at work.
“The sleek, professional look SKOLNICK created for our “art gallery of bugs” focuses attention on the invertebrates and provides a welcoming and engaging environment for visitors of all ages and abilities.
