THE PALEY CENTER FOR MEDIA

New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA

The Paley Center for Media, formerly the Museum of Television and Radio, retained SKOLNICK to create an Interpretive Master Plan for the design of the future building and exhibits. Serving as a roadmap for the overall visitor experience, the Master Plan included a facility assessment, project criteria, concept outline, diagrammatic floorplan layout, vision renderings, and preliminary graphic designs. It also included a preliminary project budget, schedule, and potential phasing options to support further development of the project.

ENHANCING THE VISITOR EXPERIENCE

To streamline visitor flow, the Master Plan advised locating interactive media and gallery experiences for the public on the lower floors and concentrating the library functions on the upper floors. Additionally, a comprehensive graphic way-finding system for the entire institution was created to improve ease of circulation and enhance the overall visitor experience.
