WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM
Beijing, China
SKOLNICK’s concept for this new technology museum in Beijing was to create a magnetic beacon in the busy city center – a luminous light that responds to human presence. The building stands on a plinth raised slightly above ground. Public areas are situated on this plinth, while non-public spaces, augmented with light wells and sunken gardens, are below grade. Viewed from afar, its skin radiates kinetic imagery, broadcasting the signal that the building is alive.
